The cam divider (indexing plate) is filled with lubricating oil when it leaves the factory. It is best if the oil level is in the middle of the oil mark. After a long time, the divider needs to replace the internal lubricating oil. Timely and appropriate replacement of the lubricating oil can make the divider work better and extend its service life.
Just like the lubricating oil inside our car engine, on the one hand we need to consider the mileage, and on the other hand we need to consider the usage time. Regardless of whether the car is running or not, the oil generally needs to be changed every six months or a year.
Splitter Similarly, some customers say that they rarely use it, so they don’t need to change the oil. This idea is wrong. We recommend that the index plate be changed once a year, and 220# heavy-duty gear oil is recommended.
How to change the oil of the cam divider (indexing plate) ? If the following figure:
In the picture, A is the oil filling port, and B is the oil drain port. Unscrew the screw at B and drain the oil inside the divider. If possible, it is recommended to flush it with gasoline. Then apply glue to the screw at B and then screw it back.
The relative positions of the components inside the dividing box are very precise. When replacing the lubricating oil, be careful not to let impurities fall into the divider.
