What should I do if the cam divider does not rotate after the motor is powered on?
2023-06-22

Today I received a consultation call from a customer. The splitter connected to the motor could not rotate after power was turned on. The customer thought there might be something wrong with the splitter and needed technical support.

The video of customer feedback is as follows: (multiple videos merged)

First of all, I would like to point out a few problems in the video. I hope everyone will pay attention to them when adjusting the machine in the future.
  1. It is wrong to forcefully rotate the output flange. Such operation will cause great damage to the internal bearings of the divider. Excessive force may even cause the bearings to break. The input shaft must provide power to drive the output shaft to rotate.
  2. It is recommended to add a handwheel to the input shaft to manually rotate the splitter. The rotation method in the video is unsafe and easy to get injured. It will also damage the input shaft.

Cause analysis: In the above video, after the divider is removed and the force shaft is turned on, the output shaft can rotate normally. After the motor is fixed, it cannot rotate. The divider can be ruled out as the cause.

After ruling out the divider as the cause, the customer checked the motor again, and later reported that there was a problem with the motor wire.
